FLYING THE COLORS!

For several years Troop 96 has posted U.S. Flags in front of local Urbandale merchants to recognize their patriotism. The scouts in the troop post the colors on 10 specific days throughout the year and retire them as well regardless of the weather. The flags are posted in the morning (6am) and retired in the late afternoon before sunset (6 pm). This provides a sense of responsibility and patriotism in the scouts as well.  The next time you are driving through Urbandale and notice American Flags flying in front of several businesses, remember the Scouts of Troop 96!
