Using ScoutLander



In an effort to streamline communication and keep everyone in our pack informed of pack activities and events, we have begun using the “Scoutlander” website.  This site has great potential for keeping the pack organized and informed.  However, it can only work if people understand how to use it.  So here are the basics.

Pack Website
Our pack website is at http://pack495.scoutlander.com

Public Site
This above web address will bring you to the PUBLIC SITE where you will find the publicly available pages about the pack and scouting, forms, as well as other items of interest.

Private Site
To access our PRIVATE SITE, which contains information only pack members can see, you need an invitation and a password.  Returning pack members should already have received the invitation.  New members will receive it soon.  You will have 5 days to accept the invitation.  If you need a new invitation, email the site administrator using the Contact Our Pack link at the top of the page.  Please allow 36 hours for the administrator to get back to you.  Once you have your username and password, you can access the PRIVATE SITE.  Your must login from the pack website in order to view the information on the PRIVATE SITE

My Profile
Please take a look at the My Profile section. Clicking Edit Profile in the upper right corner will allow you to edit your information. If your information is not current, please update it.  This information is used to contact you, keep you up to date and ensure rosters are current. If a there is a different or additional email address to which you would like emails and reminders to be sent, you can also edit that information here.  If a second parent needs their own login id, please email the site administrator using the Contact Our Pack link at the top of the page with the name and email address and ask for an invitation.

Event Calender
The Event Calendar contains pack events, council events and in some cases, den events. Please check this area often as the system only emails reminders out 48 hours in advance if you have that functionality turned on.  When you first enter the calendar, you are taken to the current month. Using the options found at the top, you can move to any month you want. If you click on an event, you may view the event details, including date, time and any other information that has been entered for that particular entry.  Scrolling down you will find any Attachments related to the event.  Depending on the event type, you may also see that an RSVP is requested. 

        To RSVP for an Event -
- Within the event, if an RSVP is requested, scroll down until you see your scout's name (invitees are listed alphabetically by last name),
- Click the Response link next to your scouts name
- Choose the appropriate number of attendees from the drop downs provided.  The system allows you to provide the number of scout, siblings and adults attending. 
- Click Save. 
- Note: The system does not record a response if you enter zero for the number of attendees, rather, to indicate you are unable to attend an event, please make a note indicating that you are not attending in the Comment section.  Please remember to click Save.
