Get Involved!

Involvement of parents and other adult partners is key to the success and enjoyment of the scouting experience.   There are many chances for you to help out the group which require varying amounts of time commitment.

Ongoing Leadership Roles
We are always able to involve additional parents to allow for turnover as well as to spread the workload across many people.   Many hands make for light work!

Committee Members:   Participate with the pack leadership team to plan for pack activities and make decisions regarding pack commitments.

Assistant Committee Chair:  Assists the committee chair in the leadership of the pack committee.

Assistant Cubmaster:  Assists the cubmaster in planning the monthly pack meetings.

Assistant Den Leaders:  Assists the den leader in planning the den activities.

Assistant Advancements Chair:  Assists the advancement chair in reporting, purchasing, and distributing rank advancements and other awards for the scouts.

Pack Secretary:  Keep records of committee decisions and discussions.  Assist in communication efforts to the pack as a whole...either via the website or newsletters.

Other Leadership Roles:  There are other opportunities to provide ongoing leadership as a parent coordinator, training lead, or in various other capacities.   Also, if you are interested in stepping into one of our current leadership roles (Committee Chair, Cubmaster, Treasurer, Den Leader, etc.), let one of the current leaders know.   We always have the option of rotating roles to new people.  If you have a special interest or skill, let your den leader know and we will be glad to have you involved.

One-Time Coordination Roles

Recruiting Champion:  Leads efforts to recruit new scouts and their families.   The major activities for this take place in May and September.

Assistant Popcorn Colonel: Assist the Popcorn Colonel in the planning, coordination, ordering, and distribution of the popcorn. This starts in September and is completed prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Pack Rechartering Coordinator:  Takes a lead role in complete the rechartering of the pack on an annual basis.   This is completed primarily in November & December.

Scouting for Food Coordination:  Coordinates the distribution of the scouting for food bags to the designated area.   Connects with the Boys Scouts to arrange pick-up of food donations.  Occurs in September/October

Pack Event Coordinator:  Take a lead role in planning a pack-wide event.   These can be a single day/night activity or an overnight event.   Events will vary based on the recommendations of the event coordinator and pack committee.

Camp Registration Coordination:  Coordinates the registration of the various dens for summer camps.  Occurs in January-March.

Other Registrations Coordination:  Coordinators are also needed for registration for other events throughout the year.   Help out with one or many of these, such as:  Scout Ski Day (register in November for December), Winter Camp (registering in October for January/February), Webelo Fall Camp (register in September for October), Tiger Prowl (register in September for October), Wolf Howl (register in February/March for March), Bear Hibe (register in Feb/Mar for April), etc.

Other Opportunities
Additional one-time or ongoing opportunities will be coordinated through your den leader.   You can help out in many ways....including providing snacks, tracking den achievements, planning den activities, or sharing a special skill or interest of yours.
