Registration Requirements
A potential scout must be 11 years old OR completed 5th grade OR earned the Arrow of Light
Each boy joining Troop 513 must complete the following:
• Boy Scout Registration Form
• Troop Resource Survey Form (adult)
• Parental Permission & Medical form
• Registration Fee
• Parent Volunteer Form (adult)
Registration Fees
All youth members of Troop 513 are expected to pay a $15 annual registration fee, which will cover membership, chartering, privileges of the BSA. This fee is due December of each year during the re-chartering process.
All adult members pay a yearly registration fee of $15. These fees are considered due and should be paid by December of each year.
Monthly Camping and Activities
• Once per month
• Parents are required to sign up for 2 camping/activity outings per year but are welcome to attend anytime
• One Family camping event per year
• Fee's are collected to cover transporation, food and use fees for camping trips and other troop activities
Trail to First Class
Troop 513 offers the Trail to First Class program for new scouts. This is a program designed for first year Scouts who are working on fundamental scouting skills.

Meetings
• Four per month for all scouts; 1 per month for Patrol Leaders
• Tuesday evenings, 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Meeting Location: Rio Oso Community Center- Contact Scout Master for Directions.
Uniforms
Full Boy Scouts of America Class A uniforms will be worn to all formal occasions (such as parades, Courts of Honor, Boards of Review) and all regular weekly Scout meetings (unless designated by the Scoutmaster). The Scoutmaster will determine Scout and leader dress for all activities. The Scoutmaster is required to conduct regular uniform inspections at his discretion.
• Class A uniform consists of the official Scout shirt with appropriate badges, Troop 513 neckerchief with a slide, long or short BSA pants, BSA socks, and BSA belt. BSA hats are optional. Sashes are required to be worn with the Full Class A for First Class Scouts and above, except at the discretion of the Scoutmaster.
• Class B uniform consists of the BSA shirt, casual pants or shorts, belt, and socks.
• Class C uniform consists of a Troop 513 T-shirt along with any casual pants or shorts.
Parental Involvement
There are several opportunities for parents can be involved with Troop 513. Some opportunities include: Assistant Scoutmasters, Merit Badge Counselors, Troop Committee Members, and participation in monthly camping/activity events.
Youth Protection
The Boy Scouts of America offers an adult training program that explores the various forms of youth protection. Every adult associated with Troop 513, including merit badge counselors, should attend this seminar. All registered adult Scouters are required to attend this training.
