Girl Scout Troop 391 September Newsletter

Troop 391 is currently a closed troop that now serves Cadets-Seniors and Ambassadors only.  Paula McKain & Becca Haney now has a troop that is only elementary age children.  I am excited to announce I have a new leader Anna Hammond-Moore she will be assisting me with the Cadets-Seniors- & Ambassadors (Junior & High School Scouts) she is a college student who is currently working to complete her Bachelors also a part time supervisor at Ellan Sagar Nursing home. Although she does not have a child in the troop she is a mom of a future girl scout. She has been very active with community work prior to relocating to Union SC.

We will also have former scout of Troop Tatiana Ferguson assisting and joining us for activities throughout the 2016-2017 Season. Tatiana is known to the troop as she was in high school when many of the troop members were in elementary and middle school. It is a real pleasure to have her help.  The girls have enjoyed hearing about her college experiences and she continues to be a role strong role model for our daughters.

Parents: At this meeting you will register your child (ren) as well as yourself if you intend on being present during any of our activities/outings.  Registration is $15.00 this fee covers insurance during our meetings. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify.

Scouts:  Scouts will hold their own girl led meeting they will work together on this year’s community service project outline.  In addition to a project outline a fall schedule will be created. We are working to take everyone’s activity schedule into consideration so that we can do our best and see to it that everyone is able to participate in scouts as often as possible.

Our troop currently does not have a fall product or cookie manager we will need additional volunteers to assist our troop throughout the year.  In order to eliminate Annual Troop Dues and help offset the cost of the troop events, programs, activities, and outings we will need to have a minimum of two parent volunteers commit to assisting with fundraising activities.
