Being A Junior Girl Scout?

Junior Girl Scouts

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.

5 Things about Junior Girl Scouts:

·         Girl Scout Juniors want and need to be ACTIVE!

·         Girl Scout Juniors want to GO PLACES! Outing-based activities will   take   a more prominent role.

·         Girl Scout Juniors want to MAKE DECISIONS. More choices on what               they do will be placed upon them.

·         Girl Scout Juniors want to BE IN CHARGE, and great leaders find                 ways for that to happen!

·         Girl Scout Junior want to HAVE FUN! Girls want to do what they think             is fun.

As Junior Girl Scouts, the girls will earn badges and discover what girl power is all about through new activities and by learning to take charge of their own plans. They will gain self-confidence as they explore the world in partnership with their troop and leaders.

Every Junior takes pride in doing her best to live by the Girl Scout Law. As Girl Scout Juniors, girls will find out who they are and which path is right for her – whether it is leading bold and adventurously or quiet and thoughtfully, or a combination of the two. In their own special way, Juniors will discover how to make the world a better place– all while having fun and making new friends – in the Junior Journeys and the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting.

Junior Uniform

All of the girls can be in partial uniform when we are at meetings and full uniform when we are in public. For example, if we are at the meetings they can wear any shirt and pants or shorts with their vest or sash.

If we are in public they must be in khaki colored pants or shorts and a white tunic type shirt

Girls should wear closed toed and closed healed shoes to outings unless specified otherwise.

Junior Journey Book Program

They need to purchase:  JUNIOR GIRL'S GUIDE TO GIRL SCOUTING

Girl Scouting has never been more exciting than with this new program resource. Girls and Volunteers will love the fun, eye-opening activities and the all-in-one badge book and handbook format. Beautifully designed, these binders are divided into three sections: handbook, badge and my Girl Scouts. The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting complements the Girl Scout Journeys by helping girls build skills to become successful and gain the confidence to do amazing things!

Juniors will vote to complete one journey program.
