Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma

Girl Scouts was founded on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia by Juliette Gordon Low. The organization spread to Oklahoma, with the first troops beginning in 1917. That was also the year the very first Cookie Sale was held in Muskogee, Oklahoma! Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma covers most of the eastern half of the state and serves over 10,000 girls and 3,000 adult volunteers. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place!

Girl Scouts is a program open to all girls ages 5-17 who pay the membership fee and make the Girl Scout Promise.

The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

The Girl Scout Mission Statement
The Girl Scout mission is simple: To build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, we help girls discover, connect, and take action to positively impact their communities.

The Girl Scout Motto
"Be Prepared."

The Girl Scout Slogan
"Do A Good Turn Daily."
