Hi, I'm Ms. Angela, Troop 4182's Leader. I have also served 2 terms on the GS Neighborhood Service Team as the Secretary for the Sunset Skies Neighborhood. I have volunteered for many different organizations that had to do with my kids for many years. I was on the Copper Basin K-8 School PTO, I was a T-Ball coach, & team parent for Soccer with the YMCA. I fundraise and organize a team for the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona awareness walk every year since 2005. And I have been volunteering with Girl Scouts since 2007. I have been a parent volunteer, co-leader, leader, and service team member.
I was born and raised in Arizona, and grew up doing all kinds of outdoor activities, from hiking & fishing, to camping & all that entails. I know just about every inch of this state, and all kinds of crazy fun facts. I am CPR, 1st Aid, AED, Oxy2, Bus Driver, & Lifeguard certified. As well as I have my Troop Camp Certification Level 2 with the Az Cactus Pine GS Council.
I believe it is up to the girl, how involved they want to be with Girl Scouts. This is a Girl Lead organization after all. They can do as little or as much of the program as they wish. They can work the program just primarily with in the troop setting, or do extra on their own with their family. There is no wrong or right way. I am just a guide to help them with ideas, planing, and caring out what the girls want to put into motion. The primary goal of girl scouts is to build confidence, and leadership, as well as community awareness in girls. I feel that it should not be about how many badges can they earn, but more about the relationships and experiences, and the badges are just a side effect of that.
