These past 6 weeks (summer break) flew by!!  I am looking forward to an exciting new year.


            SEPTEMBER 2013

Thurs. Sept. 12 Free FUN NIGHT @ Florence Christian Church for all Boone County girl scout troops from 6:30 to 7:45.  Must RSVP to Kristi by Sept 9th.

Wed.  Sept. 18th Mandatory Parent Meeting/ 1st Troop Meeting  at Main library Rt. 18 Girls will be learning age appropriate hip hop dancing as part of there dancer skill builder patch.  6:30 to 8pm 

Friday Sept 20th Stargazing/Night Hike across from Central Park 8pm - 9:30 quest speaker: Rex McBride from UK/Boone Cty Ext. Center.  Girls will learning about constellations, nocturnal animals and night time science experiments

Wed. Sept 25th - GS Troop Meeting Rt 18 Main library 6:30 to 8pm (Start on our Journey book: Brownie Quest)

Sunday Sept 29th - SCOUT IT OUT! at local Council office Free event 1-4pm  Archery, canoeing, learning GS traditions, science etc.  Free event just bring canned goods.  (siblings allowed)

(The girls will receive a monthly calendar as well)

• GS TROOP MEETING Wed. 3/13/13 at Main Library Room A at 6pm for Cake Auction Please Invite Friends and Family to help support our troop.

• 3/27/13 WEd. GS Troop Meeting  at Sanitation District No. 1 at 4:30 - 6pm PLEASE BE ON TIME! 1045 Eaton Dr. Ft. Wright JOURNEY OF A DROP OF WATER.  

     Directions: 275 E, Exit 80 -KY 17 Cov./Independence, Turn L onto Madison Pike .4 m, Take the 1st Right onto Eaton Dr. .2 m, On the left

•   3/23/13 SATURDAY  CHICK FIL A TASTING TOUR.  This is a family event however only the girls will be taste testing.  Be at Chick fil A on Houston Rd at 9:30am.  Then at 10:15 we will drive to the Girl Scout office if you have sold cookies for the military or participated in the Cookie Booth.

 

•   3/30/13 Saturday REQUIREMENT from GSUSA for DAISY to earn to Bridge to Brownies in September.  Boone County Library at 9:30 to 11:30.  Girl Scouts only event.   They will have so much FUN!!

Saturday May 11th - Peter Pan Ballet @ Lexington Opera House

Saturday May 4th Brownie Sisterhood event at Main library (optional event) 
    One of our girl scouts (Amelia) older sister troop is doing this event.  Have Fun live out the words "be a sister to every girl scout" at Main library from 10-noon.

Monday May 27th  Girls are walking in the Florence Memorial Day Parade.  Be at Boone County High School at 9-9:15 am.  Girls must wear khaki shorts/pants with white shirt and vest (if have one) 

Tuesday May 28th  Roll into Summer Skating party at FUNDOME in Florence
 no registration required just show up from 6-8pm.  Girls can bring there friends and siblings.  Cost is 5 buck p/child.
