Food for Scouting is a nationwide canned food drive. It originated as a St. Louis area Boy Scout's Eagle project, and it has grown to become a nationally known effort to help feed the hungry by stocking local food pantries.
Bags are distributed on the 2nd Saturday of November and are picked up on the following Saturday.
This year's bag drop off will be on Saturday, November 9, beginning at 9am. Bag pickup will be on Saturday, November 16, starting at 9am. Bags of food will be delivered to the St. Vincent de Paul Society located at the basement of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Immediately following bag drop off, we will meet at the Bloomsdale American Legion Hall on Bodine Rd. (off V Road) for our annual leaf rake. A lunch of hot dogs and chips will be served.
