What's New

On June 1, 2015 the national Cub Scout program underwent some major changes with regard to rank requirements and achievements, in addition to some significant administrative updates.

Ranks

  • Tiger through Bear will now have 7 “Adventures” to achieve to make rank. 6 Adventures are required with 1 being chosen from a group of electives. Achieving each Adventure will be marked with a belt loop.
  • Webelos will also have 7 “Adventures” however they will have 5 required and 2 from the group of electives. Conversely, Weblos will earn pins, not belt loops.
  • Arrow of Light Scouts are similar to Webelos, except they will do 4 required “Adventures” and 3 from the elective group.
  • New books for all ranks and leadership positions become available on May 1st and outlines all the new Adventures.

NOTE: Rising 4th Graders starting on Webelos will go with the new program. Rising 5th Graders already working on Webelos will finish the program under the old format.

Other Changes

  • The Cub Scout Oath and Law are now the same as the Boy Scouts. A copy of Oath and Law are in the front of every Rank Book and are allow available for download below.
  • A simplified/condensed list of the Rank Requirements for all ranks is also attached below and recommended for all Parents and Leadership to use as an EASY to assisting Scouts in reaching their milestones. The Rank Manuals are wonderful resources, however some members find them wordy and difficult to locate requirement information quickly in. This is just an alternative.
