-for older girls, this is a great opportunity to get out in the community and actually participate in the building of a house -for younger girls that may not be ready for the actual building they can use the Card Creation Kit (http://www.habitat.org/youthprograms/habitat_trekkers/card_creation_kit.aspx) to help by making cards for donors and recipients
One Warm Coat - http://www.onewarmcoat.org/ -girls of all ages can organize and participate in a coat drive
Hannah’s Socks – www.hannahssocks.org -girls of all ages can organize and participate in a sock drive
Pocket Flag Project – www.pocketflagproject.com -flags may be purchased in packets of 300 for $70. -girls of all ages can fold the flags that are distributed to service members.
Operation Happy Sock – www.operationhappysock.org -this is a good project for girls of all ages, but especially younger girls that want to help animals but may not be old enough to assist at the shelter. -girls make cat toys and distribute to shelters -a patch is available for this project.
Halloween Against Hunger - http://www.halloweenagainsthunger.org/ - a Halloween themed food drive that is good for girls of all ages
Pinwheels for Peace – www.pinwheelsforpeace.com -girls of all ages can make and set up the display -as a larger project, older girls can organize a display.
