For many years, the Scouts have pledged to live by the Boy Scout Law to guide his thoughts and actions as the young boy grows into adulthood. Troop 164 has been putting the law into action in 2012.
A Scout is ........
trustworthy, Troop 164 kept promises of cleaning up yards, garages and gardens through out the Spring-Fall seasons with community supporters in 2012.
loyal, The Scouts participated in flag ceremonies to honor the Veterans of our country at Summit Grove Cemetery and Scribner Air Base.
helpful, The troop helped clear tables and clean up after community benefits and festivals.
friendly, Troop 164 traveled to a Pow Wow in Kearney and made friends with some Native Americans, along with learning about different customs.
courteous, Scouts put courteous into action during the Spring Camporee at Camp Eagle while working with other troops during competitions.
kind, At the Faith Food Pantry, the Scouts help and visit with everyone at the pantry.
obedient, Scouts respect the rules of their community, along with the buildings and locations of their activities.
cheerful, When it comes to cleaning the pots and pans during a campout, the Scouts clean with a cheerful heart. On the last day of campout, Scouts are looking forward to the next campout with anticipation.
thrifty, Troop 164 works hard with yard work and popcorns sales to earn their camping equipment, groceries and camping fees. Scouts learned how to use their resources to make items last longer and more friendly for the Earth.
brave, Scouts helped each other overcome fears they are facing at campouts, like climbing some rocks and swimming.
clean, A week of camping, Scouts learn how to keep their campsite and themselves clean when a guardian is not around to remind them.
and reverent. On Scout Sunday, Troop 164 worships with Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Chaplain Aid says table grace during campouts.!
