PURPOSE OF CUB SCOUTING

The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide, for boys and young adults, an informal educational program designed to train boys in the responsibilities of citizenship, provide growth in moral strength and character, and to enhance the development of physical, mental, and emotional fitness.

Through Cub Scouting, parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the following:

• Influence the development of character and encourage spiritual growth.
• Develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship.
• Encourage good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body.
• Improve understanding within the family.
• Strengthen the ability to get along with other boys and respect other people. • Foster a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills. • Show how to be helpful and do one’s best.
• Provide fun and exciting things to do.
• Prepare them to become Boy Scouts.

YOUR SON, SCOUTING AND YOU

As a parent, you want your son to grow up to be a person of worth, a self-reliant, dependable and caring

individual. Scouting has these same goals in mind for him.
Cub Scout age boys do not join to build character...boys join Cub Scouts because IT IS FUN!!

SCOUTING IS FUN WITH A PURPOSE!!
