Welcome

Troop 53 emphasizes the "Out" in Scouting, with monthly activities ranging from day hikes through Bronze-age ruins, to beach camping, to hiking and camping on the slopes of Europe's most active volcano! We also enjoy the camaraderie of our local Italian Scouts.

Boy Scouting is available to boys who are 11 through 17 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Troop 53 has maintained a presence in Sigonella, Sicily for over 50 years and is proud to have the Chief Petty Officers' Association as its charter organization.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. The Scouting program will continue to:

• Offer young people responsible fun and adventure;
• Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law;
• Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership;
• Serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based program.
