Welcome to Adventure!

Adventure! That’s what Scouting is. As a part of Scouting, you will experience some of the most exciting adventures you can imagine. You will find yourself hiking along peaceful trails, canoeing down misty rivers and camping under beautiful skies. You will smell fresh rain in the woods and pick wild blackberries. You will cook meals in the open; travel the backcountry without leaving a trace; and live well with only what you can carry in your pockets and backpack. You will learn how to find your way with and without a map and compass, how to stay warm and dry in stormy weather, how to camp in the snow, how to tie a variety of knots and how to give first aid. You will observe wildlife close up and study nature all around.  You will develop citizenship, character and personal fitness in a world that is losing those qualities.  Most importantly you will learn reverence and leadership.

Scouts must learn to work together and we strongly believe that Scouting is fun!  We do everything we can to make it so.

Meetings and Activities

Troop #234 Weekly Meetings:

Meeting Day:  Mondays

Time:  6:30 until 8:00PM

Place:  Fellowship Hall Trinity Baptist Church, FM 2410/Knights Way, Harker Heights Texas

Besides weekly meetings, the Troop schedules at least one activity per month for fun, advancement or service. Scouting is an outdoor program and emphasizes camping and other outdoor activities. Our Scouts take part in a yearly planning session each summer, and decide on the activities that they want to participate in the coming year.

Boy Scouts of America

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
