WELCOME TO CUB SCOUT PACK 128, SMITHS, ALABAMA!

The Cub Scout program is for boys age 6 - 10 (or in the 1st through 5th grades).  Cub Scouts participate in all kinds of fun and adventure such as Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, Rocket Derby, camping trips, fishing trips, community service activities, and much more.  Cub Scouting also helps boys grow into good citizens who are strong in character and know the value of being physically fit.

Parents interested in registering their boys in the Cub Scouting program should contact our Cubmaster by phone at 706-464-7912 or by e-mail at racsec@bellsouth.net.  While most of our Scouts join the unit at the start of the school year, they can be registered at any time during the calendar year.

If you want your son to participate in a program that is fun, exciting, has plenty of outdoor opportunities and teaches him that he does not always have to win as long as he does his best, we have just the program for you!

Who or What is Cub Scout Pack 128?

Cub Scout Pack 128, located in Smiths, Alabama, is chartered to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.  Our Scout membership ranges from a high of 75-100+ Scouts in September/October to a low of 50-60 Scouts during the busy summer months when many families take a break from scouting for vacations, etc.  The Pack is divided into "Dens".  Each Den consists of 5-12 Scouts of the same age/school grade.  Tiger Cubs are our youngest at age 6 (1st grade).  Wolf Cubs are age 7 (2nd grade), Bear Cubs are age 8 (3rd grade), and our Webelos Scouts are ages 9 and 10 (4th and 5th grade).  Pack 128 has been blessed with a great group of Scouts and Leaders, and we have a blast at our Den and Pack meetings!

We are an active year round unit with at least one major event scheduled each month.  These events vary from year to year, but generally include:

January -- Pinewood Derby
February -- Blue and Gold Banquet (Happy Birthday, BSA!)
March -- Rocket Derby
April -- Raingutter Regatta / Council Spring Family Camp
May -- End of Year Celebration / Camping Trip or Hiking Event
June -- Summer Fun & Water Play / Council Day Camp
July -- Cubopolis 100 Nascar Style Race Event / Camp Inside the Naval Museum / Council Resident Camp
August -- Welcome Back To The Pack Celebration / Camping Trip to Camp FGL
September -- School Night Registration and Scout/Parent Orientation / New Leader Training
October -- Council Fall Family Camp / Prepare Christmas Cards for Deployed Soldiers & Wounded Warriors / Service Clean Up Project for Church / Help The Hooch River Clean Up
November -- Annual Turkey Shoot or Camp Aboard the USS Alabama / Webelos-O-Ree
December -- Pack Holiday Party & Cookie Bake for Hometown Heroes

Besides having fun at the events listed above, our Scouts serve the community through an annual food and toy drive during the holiday season, a fall clean-up at the church, and "answering the call to serve" whenever and wherever possible when community leaders ask us to lend a hand.
