Mission

It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and, in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The Venture Crew program of Crew 500 adheres to this mission and is designed for older Scouts and their friends to develop leadership, learn safety and outdoor skills, experience high adventure sea kayaking and other outdoor activities, and provide service to the community. Venture Crew members work as a team to achieve specific goals that the youth leadership of the Crew are responsible for planning and carrying out.

Description

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.

Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
