There's No Place Like Camp!!

Daycamp 2014

Hosted by Service Unit 642

We are offering a great opportunity for Girl Scouts that will be going into the 8th grade and up to get some leadership experience.  These girls will be the unit leaders and assistant leaders of the girls K-6th.  There will also be adult volunteers to help with the units for safety reasons but the girls will be the ones taking the lead during the day.  On the overnights, they will be broke up into units with the other girls leading the units so they get a camping experience for themselves. We are starting a program for the girls going into the 7th grade where they will get some leadership experience as well.  There will be more information about all of this at registration night.  We hope that you and your daughters are excited about camp because it is going to be a blast.

The theme of camp this year is the Wizard of OZ.  The girls voted on this theme the last day of camp last year.  The committee has been brainstorming ideas for camp since we heard what the theme was.  Needless to say, we are very excited and are ready to get the plan rolling.  We are excited to be back at Camp Timberlake this year.  This campground is not a Girl Scout owned camp.  Girl Scouts sold this camp a couple years ago so it is good to be back!  It is a great camp!

If you are an adult that is interested in helping with our camp please send an email to Rhonda Knopp or you can sign up at our camp registration nights.  If you can only be there one day, that is fine, we will take you when we can get you. If you can't volunteer but know someone else that is 18 and older (Grandparents, Aunt's, former Girl Scouts, etc.)  that might want to help, please pass the information onto them. Camp is a great experience for the girls, but camp doesn't happen without our WONDERFUL Volunteers!

If you have any questions regarding camp, please contact Rhonda Knopp.  Her email is
