Welcome to the World of Troop 203!

Boy Scouts of America
Troop 203
Leadership by Example

Boy Scout Troop 203 is made up of boys from the Oakland and Berkeley areas, and is affiliated with the San Francisco Bay Area Council.  Our troop has been operating successfully for nearly 60 years!  There are about 34 active scouts, from public and private schools throughout the East Bay. We have an energetic program but we recognize that everyone leads a busy life.  Scouts and parents can choose how they commit their time.

We are committed to learning outdoor skills and personal growth. Scouts learn through varied activities.  We camp almost every month.  Every summer, we go to Camp Wente, the scout summer camp in Mendocino County.  Every year we backpack, hike, cycle, car camp, and we perform community service projects.  In August of 2015, thirteen Scouts and eight adults canoe trekked to the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Ontario, Canada.

To learn more,  visit a troop meeting, or join us on an activity.  We meet on most Monday evenings from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of Montera Middle School, located on 5555 Ascot Drive within a mile of the Park Blvd exit of Hwy 13 in Oakland's Montclair district. See the calendar for more details.

We are grateful to the Montclair Lions Club for serving as our chartering organization.  The Montclair Lions Club provides many public services and events including eyeglass collection for the disadvantaged throughout the world, fund raising for many different worthwhile causes, annual open to the public Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade, Flea Market, and Golf Tournament.
