Pack 186 Visits the Michigan State Police

Members of Cub Scout Pack 186 received a tour of the Michigan State Police Academy on August 24, 2015.  As part of the tour they got to visit some of the classrooms, watch a movie about the history of the MSP, and received a tour of the facilities of including the gym, cafeteria, training pool, and dog kennels.

There was some disappointment when they could not see a demonstration by the K-9 unit, because the dogs where needed on a call, but the disappointment soon ended when they where able to get to go for a ride a police car around the test track.  All the boys had a great time.

Special thanks to Sgt. David Haynes and the drive school team for making this tour happen.

Pack 186

Cub Scout Pack 186 is chartered by St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion, MI. We accept boys in grades 1st - 5th from all faiths.

Boys in Pack 186 are divided up in dens based on the grade that they are in.  Den activities are based on having fun, getting boys promoted to the next rank, and performing other activities that could earn the boys other awards.  Den meetings are usually one day a month and the schedule is up to the den leader.

There is also on pack meeting each month as well, where future pack events are announced and where the various awards are given out to the individual boys as they earn them.  Pack events include camping, can food drives, and many other fun scout activities.

2015/2106 activities included building a float in the Lake Orion Holiday Parade, watching a Toledo Mudhens baseball game and spending the night camping in the outfield, and spending the night on the USS Silversides a World War II submarine.

If your boy is in sports or have any other activities that conflict with any meetings, do not worry.  Leaders will be more than happy to let any missed activities by made up for at a latter date or at home.
