UPCOMING EVENTS

Scouting Kick Off and New Scout Recruitment Night!

SCOUTING KICK OFF AND RECRUITMENT NIGHT FOR NEW SCOUTS!!

Friday, September 19th, at 7pm.  (doors open at 6:45 for new scouts)
West Springfield Methodist Church
800 Amostown Road, West Springfield   (across from Fausey School)

Come join us for a super fun evening filled with tons of activities! We have games, scouting activities, crafts, snacks and other fun things to keep even the most adventurous boy excited!

This is the chance for families to come and experience what cub scouts are all about, ask questions and meet new friends!   Scouting kick off and recruitment night will be held on Friday, September 21st from 7-8pm.  New scouts may arrive at 6:45pm for a tour and registration and Q&A session.

Current scouts, bring your pinewood derby car from last year.  We will be able to show off our cars and participate in pack races!  Any current scout who brings a friend will receive a special prize at the next pack meeting!

WHY CHOOSE PACK 570???

We are the largest and most active pack in West Springfield which means your son will get the most out of his scouting experience!  We have boys from all West Springfield schools and even some from other towns and even home schooled children!  Cub scouts are for elementary school age boys, 1st grade-5th grade.
Low commitment!  Den meetings are usually one hour, twice a month!
Fun, Fun, Fun!   Scouting is a non-competitive, all ability/disability, self confidence boosting activity!  Boys meet lifelong friends in a fun, safe, learning environment!

For more information about our pack or if your son would like to join scouting and you cannot attend the New Scout Night, please contact us by clicking on the "contact our pack" link at the top of the website page.

ANYONE WHO COULD NOT MAKE THE RECRUITMENT NIGHT CAN CALL SHELLI AT 788-6819 FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT JOING OUR PACK.

Popcorn Sales!!

Lets hit the streets for our annual popcorn fundraiser.   Each scout that individually sells $250 of popcorn, gets the chance to throw a cream pie into Cubmaster D'Agostino's face!

Its Popcorn time again!   Healthier than Girl Scout Cookies!  Please support your local cub scout Pack!

All popcorn sales sheets should be turned in to your den leader by October 23rd!  Popcorn will be in around Thanksgiving Time.  All checks should be made out to Pack 570.

New Scout Information!

New Scout Uniform and other needs.

The Western Mass Council trading post is located in Westfield Mass (near the Mass Pike entrance).  This is the location to purchase all your scouting needs.  If you are new to scouting, here is what you will need.  The staff at the trading post can help you with the right selection for your age group.

Blue Scouting Shirt (short sleeve)
Neckerchief with slide
Scouting Book
Pack 570 numbers and badges for the uniform

1. Blue Scouting Shirt.  The shirt is worn from 1st-5th grade, so we highly suggest getting one on the bigger size so that it will last many years.  If your child is of average size, Youth Medium is suggested for most.  Short sleeve is better as well!

2. Scouting Neckerchief and slide.  Each den has their own color neckerchief and slide. The Trading post staff can help show you exactly what you will need.

3. Scouting book.  Each den has their own book which they will use throughout the year.

Optional:  Scouting hat and belt.

Highly suggested:  Badge Magic.  The worlds most wonderful solution to getting those badges and numbers on your child's shirt for those who do not sew!  We have found that other iron on's or stick-on's just don't work like Badge Magic!  I believe it is also found in the Western Mass Council trading store.

To get exactly what you need, just tell the staff at the Trading Post the following.
Your son's pack number (it is 570)
His Rank:  ie: Tiger, Wolf, Bear etc.

If you have financial constraints, the Council has financial assistance for those in need.  Please see your den leader or Cubmaster for details.

Happy Scouting!

Annual Fall Family Camp Out!
